VMware just published maintenance releases for several of its virtualization products in order to patch vulnerabilities that could allow a hacker to compromise the security of its products and gain elevated privileges.

VMWare Server 1.07 fixes four identified vulnerabilities (see release note), while VMWare WorkStation 6.05 and VMware ACE 2.05 correct three (release notes #1 and #2). VMware also updated VMware Player to version 2.0.5, a version which remove the same three vulnerabilities.
VMWare is separately working on updates to these products. The publisher has recently published VMware
Server 2.0 RC2
, VMware Workstation 6.5 RC1 and VMware ACE 2.5.
